Getting Started with Bridge Horizon

Bridge Horizon is a web-based platform that brings essential genomics applications together in one place, with a single sign-on for everything, including SCenic Viewer and the PipelineEngine. These text tutorials walk you through your first steps. Prefer to watch? Watch the video tutorials.

How to get started

Activating your credentials

You'll automatically receive login credentials to your email address.
Click the button in the email to activate your account.
Email support@bridgeinformatics.com if you do not receive your credentials.

Logging in

Visit app.bridge-horizon.com to log in to your account.
Once you enter your credentials, you'll be automatically redirected to the Bridge Horizon homepage.

Bridge Horizon works with Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, and the dashboard can be visualized on smartphones with Safari or Chrome (tested on both Apple and Android).

How to upload data

From the Bridge Horizon homepage, click the orange "Upload Data" button in the middle of the screen.
Click "Upload Files" or "Upload Folders" to upload your content.

You can upload various types of data, including folders and RDS, TXT, Zip, image, Word, tabulated, and PDF files. Feel free to rename your folders to stay organized.

Uploading data for SCenic Viewer

If you're uploading data to use in SCenic Viewer, keep these specifications in mind:

Be sure to unzip folders before uploading.
Only RDS objects can be visualized in SCenic Viewer.

What is an RDS file?

An RDS file (R Data Serialization) is a file format used to save single R objects in RStudio, a popular integrated development environment for R programming. These objects can be data frames, models, lists, or any other R data structure. SCenic Viewer reads Seurat objects saved in this format.

How to open applications

Applications are accessed from the dashboard's left-hand sidebar under Apps. Under subscription you will find SCenic Viewer and other applications; initialize an app by clicking its Launch button. Apps that are not part of your subscription show a Coming Soon status — click Contact Sales to be added.

What should I do first?

Upload your data. Store all of the data you plan to access within Bridge Horizon's applications (like SCenic Viewer) on Bridge Horizon itself, so every app in your workspace can reach the same files.
